Age 89, passed away September 2, 2019. Preceded in death by wife Jane. Survived by all 4 children and their families: Carrie Finlon (Andy), Scott Isobe, Lori Darmawan, Marc Isobe (Gemma); grand- children Chelsea, Heather, Taylor, Austin, Treven and Kailyn and great-grandson Drayden. As well as his brother Robert, and Sister Flo. George worked a lifelong career for the USA, a short stint in the Army, and then for the GSA civil service department for 30 years. Our dad was a stoic "Shogun Samurai" yet an unfaltering husband who took loving care of Jane in her long battle with diabetes, then unfailing assistance with grandkids Treven and Kailyn. Dad taught us kids solid life lessons, and made sure he practiced what he preached-it was his way of showing his love and affection to us-gruff on the outside, teddy bear inside. He was a baseball fan, a love he passed along to his sons, and now grandsons. (Oh the days of the old Honolulu Stadium and Hawaii Islanders). And who can forget those Christmas letters with pictures he sent out? Giving out the year in review Isobe style and bragging on the grandkid's achievements.
