CHARLES A. VAN GIESON 80, died on September 8, 2019, in Vancouver, Washington. He was born on August 12, 1939 in Keaukaha to Hobron and Kumulani, and was a 1958 graduate of Kamehameha Schools. After retiring from Johnson Brothers of Hawaii and the Army Reserve, Charlie spent his time tirelessly volunteering as a member of several fraternal lodges, including Excelsior Lodge #1 IOOF, Harmony Lodge #3, Pacific Rebekah Lodge #1, Canton Kamehameha 1, the Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks, and Knights of Pythias. Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Judith; daughters: Jamie (Russell) Won, Laurielei Waracka, Jacie Sakai, Jeanie (Hana) Akau, Judi Chung, and Kelliann Fracassi; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings Lenore Warren-Serrao, Martha McNichol, and George. He was predeceased by his parents, and siblings Hobie and Lei Sisiam. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
