Lani Chun Lam passed away peacefully on September 10, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 14, 1926 to Chun Kow and Annie Kon. She graduated from Punahou School in 1943 and after graduation, attended the University of Hawaii and was a member of the Yang Chung Hui Sorority. After WWII ended, she worked at Liberty Bank in downtown Honolulu. In 1950 she married her beloved husband, Richard S.F. Lam, M.D. Together they had 5 children; Patrick (Maile), Suzanne Davies (Bill) Lianne Pearson (Eric), Michael, and Richanne. She traveled extensively including an around the world trip with Richard. She was a long time member of Wai'alae Country Club where she loved to play Mah Jongg with her close friends. Lani was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her children, she is survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grand- children, sisters Jane Chang and Pearl Wong and brother Earl Chun. She will be missed by all of her family but they are comforted knowing she is together again with her loving husband Richard who preceded her in death in 1979. A private service was held at Star of the Sea Church. Donations can be made in her memory to Friends of Catholic Charities, Star of the Sea Church, Punahou School, or Creighton University.
