FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Ralph Valentine Irvine, Sr.
Ralph Valentine Irvine, Sr., 87, of Hawaiian Paradise Park, Keaau, died on Saturday, August 31, 2019. He was born to Annie Julia Kanamu Guerrero and Louis Kanekoa Irvine, Sr. of Honolulu. Ralph was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army and retired from the Honolulu Police Department with a distinguished career. Visitation will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 5, 2019) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo; Memorial Service at 5 p.m. Military Honors internment service to be held at 1 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 25, 2019) at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe (Hawaiian Memorial Park). Ralph is one of 14 children. Survived by sisters, Mildred, Juanita and Kehaulani. Ralph was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Betty Jane Inouye-Irvine. Ralph was a dedicated father, devoted and loving husband, avid golfer and #1 head cook. Ralph was affectionately called "Papa Lollipop" by his 29 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ralph was a fiercely loyal friend with an army of friends. Ralph greeted everyone with his infectious and welcoming smile and a unique and contagious sense of humor. If alive today, his beloved uncle Kino would most certainly anoint Ralph the "Bestest of the Bestest". Amen! Children, Charmaigne Haunani (deceased) Dudoit-Kerry (Marshall) of Nevada, Ralph V.
