Doreen Diana Piilani (DeCanto) Chock1938 ~ 2019 It is with profound sadness that we must announce the passing of our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Doreen Diana Pi'ilani, who entered into eternal rest on September 13, 2019, at 80 years of age. She was the third and oldest daughter of 11 children born to her native Hawaiian mother, Nancy Agnes Pi'ilani Mokunui, and father of Portuguese descent, John Joseph DeCanto. An athlete (softball pitcher), scholar, songleader, & the former first Ms. ROTC of Hawaii. She attended Kamehameha Schools and graduated from Farrington High School, class of 1956. Doreen is most remembered for her utmost devotion to her husband and children, incredible singing voice, her radiant smile, and sharing the spirit of aloha and the true meaning of ohana with everyone she met. Missing her dearly is her loving husband of 62 years, Hamilton Mun Sing Chock, Sr. also of Honolulu, HI; 6 children: Terry D.P. Chock of Kailua, HI, Jackie J.P. Chock of Costa Mesa, CA, Kelly F.P. Chock-Mao of Union City, CA, Hamilton M.S. Chock, Jr. of Belmont, CA and Jaelyn D.U. Chock-Sibley of San Marcos, CA.; 4 granddaughters: Teal, Meghan, Larkin, and Fern; 2 grandsons: Hamilton "Trey" III and Evan. She is the loving sibling of sisters, Merlene Flores, Maylene Keamo, Carolyn Drew, Charlotte Lyman, Joretta Balles. Preceded in death by youngest daughter, Dee-Jade Pi'ilani Chock and siblings, John DeCanto, Jr., Joseph Francis DeCanto and Myrtle DeCanto. Visitation: 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on October 10, 2019 at Dilday Chapel. The Mass of Catholic Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on October 11, 2019 at Saints Simon & Jude Catholic Church in Huntington Beach, CA. Doreen's final resting place will be at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Huntington Beach. Reception immediately following at Mile Square Banquet Center, Fountain Valley, CA.
