62, passed away on September 18, 2019, at home surrounded by loving family, after a 2.5-month battle with cancer. Dennis grew up in Kaneohe as the oldest son of David and Kazuko Yamashiro. He graduated from Castle H.S. in 1974, joined the Air Force, and proudly served for twenty-eight years in the Honolulu Police Department. Dennis loved to sing karaoke, cook, talk technology and politics, and teach his kids the importance of family. Predeceased by his parents, brother Dean, and nephew David, Dennis is survived by his wife Aileen, daughters: Aiko and Amy, son Daniel, dog Mochi, his sisters: Shirley (Stacey) and Sadie (Angus), brother Danny (Jill), sister-in-law Cheryl, many wonderful nephews and nieces, and the larger Yamashiro and Nakamine family. Public services will be held at Hosoi Garden Mortuary on Friday, October 25, 2019. Visitation: 10:00 am. Memorial service: 11:00 am. Casual attire, no flowers please.
