DR. NANCY GRABER CANUBIDA
DR. NANCY GRABER CANUBIDADr. Nancy Graber Canubida (nee Verhagen) passed on to heaven on Sept 28th, 2019. She was born February 11, 1948 in San Antonio, Tx. to parents Kenneth William Verhagen and Phyllis (Parmentier) Verhagen. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Graber. Nancy lived a life dedicated to God, serving where-ever Uncle Sam took her. As an Air Force 'brat' and an Army wife, she lived in many places. She had friends around the world who will miss her. Nancy had many vocations in her life. After earning her BA from Chaminade, she was a Montessori teacher/director in Hilo. She founded a teen pregnancy center there. After her MA from Manoa, she served as a social worker on Oahu, and following a PHD from Argosy, became a therapist with her own practice. Nancy volunteered in many ways in her parishes, hosted several international exchange students, enjoyed dancing and taught her family how to love generously. She will be missed by her husband, Victor Canubida. She is survived by brothers Paul (Merrily) Verhagen & Pat Verhagen; Children: Lori (Jerry) Armstrong, Jennifer (Bill) Bryan Christina Graber (Kurt Luecke) Brian (Marni) Canubida Craig (Yaka) Canubida, and Kathleen (David) Hayes and 15 grandchildren, one great grand-child, and numerous in-laws, nephews and nieces Nancy requested, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Food For The Poor charity. Celebration of Life Mass will begin at 10AM on Friday, October 18, 2019 at St. Judes in Makakilo, followed by reception and inurnment at Mililani Mortuary. The Family request casual attire.
