Passed away peacefully in Honolulu on October 3, 2019 with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born to Dr. Ben and Elaine Hirano in Lihue, Kauai on January 6, 1960. He grew up in Eleele, Kauai, and graduated from Waimea High School and the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He married the love of his life, Kathy, and they spent many happy years together, meeting up with friends and family, and travelling the world. Scott was loved by many and a friend to all. He made every person he met feel like they were special and his very best friend. He always had kind words for everyone and shared endless pictures of his cherished dog, Oreo. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kathy (Hara); twin brother, Hall Hirano of Honolulu; brother and wife, Drs Timmy and Lisa Hirano, niece, Julia Hirano of Kauai; in-laws, Glenn and Suzanne Hara of Hilo; Rochell Hara of Pahala; Dr. Mike and Kristi Komeya, nephews Koen and Kade Komeya of Honolulu; Craig and Kelly Tadaki, nephews Trenton and Ty Tadaki of California; and dog, Oreo. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Ben and Elaine Hirano; sister, Ginny Skye Hirano; and brother-in-law, Derek Hara. His love and presence in all of our lives will be deeply missed. Please join us to celebrate Scott's life on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Borthwick Mortuary in Honolulu. Visitation will begin at 9 am, service at 11 am.
