Charlene Nalani Punahele
75, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2019 surrounded by her family. The daughter of Charles and Lilinoe Scharsch, Charlene was born on February 15, 1944 in Honolulu. She graduated from The Kamehameha School for Girls in 1962 and The Queen's Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Le'ahi Hospital, Children's Inpatient Unit, Wards A and B and retired from the State of Hawaii, Department of Health, Office of Health Care Assurance in 1999. She will be remembered for her love for her family, kind heart, and gentle spirit. She was committed to caring for children and animals. She cherished time spent with family and friends. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten. She is survived by Jeremiah, her husband of nearly 50 years, daughter Kaye (Rod) Miller, son Nathan, grandson Randon, granddaughter Rayne (James) Bell, and great-granddaughters: Brooklyn, Oakley, and Jamesyn Bell. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019 at Hawaiian Memorial Park, Kaneohe. Visitation: 9:30 a.m.; Service: 10:30 a.m.; Fellowship and lunch: 11:30 a.m.; Committal Service: 1:00 p.m. at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery. Aloha attire.
