A celebration of Donald Grayson Klim's life will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the Honbushin International Center, 95-030 Waihonu Street, Mililani, Hawaii from 12 pm - 5pm. Casual/Aloha attire (note: footwear to be removed before entering hall). Donald was born on September 25, 1932 in Bristol, Connecticut to William Klim Sr. and Bertha Grayson Klim. He was a 1951 graduate of Bristol High School and attended the Teachers College of Connecticut, (currently known as Central Connecticut State College) earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1955. He taught chemistry at Greenwich High School; also completed graduate level study in chemistry, education, mathematics and physics at Cornell University. He received a Master's Degree in Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire and a second Master's Degree in Oceanography from the University of Hawaii. He was a dedicated Oceanography instructor at Leeward Community College for 32 years. He loved Hawaii and the ocean and worked tirelessly to instill that same love in his students. He retired in 1999 and enjoyed life together with his wife Blanche of 41 years until his death at age 87 on October 10, 2019 at home in Makakilo. Donald is survived by Blanche Klim, retired Leeward Community College Graphic Artist, an older brother, William Klim Jr. (Anne) of Rifle Colorado, and preceding him in death, a younger brother Martin Klim (Patricia) of Auburndale, Florida.
