9/27/30 10/13/19 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 13, 2019. Born during the Great Depression in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii on 9/27/30 to Fook Mun and Nalice Chow Mun. She was the 4th child of 7 children. She attended St Andrew's Priory where she graduated in 1949. She married Wallace Chew Mung Yuen on her 22nd birthday in 1952. Eleanor was an energetic, fun-loving, caring and thoughtful person to everyone. She loved to cook and care for her family and friendsit was her passion! After the birth of her first 2 children, Eleanor found employment as a Clerk Typist in the System Operation Division at HECO. She continued there for over 31 years until her retirement at age 57 in 1987. She and Wally loved to golf and travelespecially during their retirement years. Eleanor is predeceased by Wally (7/9/15) and her siblings Melvin Mun, Lawrence Mun, and Bertha Chu. She is survived by her siblings Kenneth Mun, Milton Mun, and Jeanette Young; 3 children--Leonard (Maureen), Bernard (Chicky), and Leona; 6 grandchildren--Ethan (Nikki), Jared, Isaac, Merry (Delvin), Jonah, and Caleb; 8 great- grandchildren--Naia, Maekaiah, Jeshaiah, Zekariah, Nehemaiah, D'Zaiah, Zayliah, and Noelle. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, 11/27/19 at the Borthwick Mortuary Maunakea Chapel. Visitation at 10am; Service at 11am; Inurnment 2pm at Diamond Head Cemetery. Casual Attire.
