JOHN PATRICK FOLEYMay 21, 1930 ~ November 5, 2019 "Jack" Foley (89) joined his wife "Winnie" on November 5, 2019, passing peacefully at home in Honolulu, Hawaii, surrounded by his children. A staunch New Yorker born in Manhattan of immigrant parents, he served in the United States Air Force in Massachusetts, Hawaii, California, Germany and deployed to Guam for operation "Rolling Thunder" during Viet Nam, retiring in 1975. He had a second career as Admissions Director at a women's university in Massachusetts retiring in 1995. Always in service, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels, as a passenger service agent at Westover AFB and at the Pacific Air Museum, Pearl Harbor, as a founding volunteer, docent historian and ambassador. He leaves behind son Wayne, daughter-in-law Denise and grandchildren, Deidre and Evan; daughter Patty, son-in-law Peter and granddaughters, Alissa and Nicole; daughter Kathy; sister Fran and brother-in-law Larry; and brother-in-law Tex. Jack was a loving husband, dad, "papa", brother and uncle and will be fondly remembered for his strong opinions, zest for world travel and for keeping family connected, no matter the distance.
