Alexander C. Kane Jr.
Alexander C. Kane Jr., 83, of Kailua, passed away on October 8, 2019. He was a beloved husband to his wife of 62 years, Frances (Styer). Father to his four children, Eric (Janis), Jason (Kauko), Kirstie and Aaron (Kahana: deceased). He had ten grand- children Rachel (Jason), Nainoa (Jen), Scot, La'akea, Alexandres-Joan, Makana, Kennedi, Leimana, Dylan and Makena and three great- grandchildren, Nale, Haku and Awa. Brother to Atomic and Zerna. Preceded in death by parents, Alexander & Zerna and brothers, Tazoni & Aldrich. He graduated from Kamehameha Schools in 1954 and the University of Utah in 1958. Known to many as "coach", "T" or "The man", Alex began teaching at Kawananakoa while coaching at Roosevelt before transferring to Kailua High School where he was a teacher, coach and athletic director. After 35 years of service and a countless amount of lives touched by his influence, Alex retired in 1993. He remained active in the sports community through HHSAA, HIADA and Makule softball, as well as attending his grand- children's sporting events. Loved and respected, Alex will be truly missed.
