FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

YOSHIKATSU “CLIFFORD” TAKISHITA
YOSHIKATSU 93, of Pearl City, on October 28, 2019 rejoined his beloved wife, Chiye, who preceded him in death 17 years ago. Born in Pa'ia, Maui, on June 2, 1926. He was employed by the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard for 30+ years as an instrument mechanic. Member of the Pearl City Hongwanji and served as Kyodan President, choir member, and Project Dana program Coordinator. Avid fan of the UH Athletics and especially of the Rainbow Warrior Basketball team. Music was an important part of his life. He especially enjoyed listening to classical & Japanese music and attended many concerts. The harmonica was a favorite instrument (he owned several) that he played primarily for others upon request. He loved dogs and he spent a lot of his time during his retirement caring for and raising the family's Golden Retrievers and 2 litters of puppies spread 14 years apart. Travel and seeing different parts of the world were a big part of his retirement time with Chiye. He also traveled annually to visit his daughter, Yvonne's family in Illinois until his health did not allow him to go. Dad was a handyman who could fix almost everything in the house. He willingly gave his time to help friends and family without expecting anything in return. Loving father to Glen (Sandi), Yvonne (Mike Harada), grandfather to Dana and Emily. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Service to be held: Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary - Mauka Chapel Sunday, December 8, 2019 5:00 pm visitation, 6:00 pm service to follow Special thanks to the Altres Medical staff and caregivers who provided daily care and assistance to Clifford after he lost his vision. Thanks also to the Pearl City Hongwanji Project Dana group whose weekly visits entertained him and kept him updated on what was happening at church.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
