Jane S. Morris
Jane S. MorrisMarch 9, 1925 to November 28, 2019 Born and raised in Chicago, Jane attended college and law school at Washington University in St. Louis. After passing the bar, she briefly practiced law until she moved to Hawaii in 1959 with her first husband Nels L. Soderholm Jr. where they raised their three children Barbara, Erik and Roger in Kailua. She later married Wilmer C. Morris. Her concern for her community led Jane to actively participate in many organizations which began in the 60's with Save Mt. Olomana Association to preserve the beauty of Kailua. She was an active member of Lani-Kailua Outdoor Circle and for many years served as the public affairs chairman. Jane supported the Women's Community Correctional Center with their vocational horticulture program and was awarded Palapalai and Laulima awards for her dedication and project leadership by the Garden Club of Honolulu. She was also involved with the Bishop Museum, the Outdoor Circle and Keep-It-Kailua. Jane loved working in her yard, tending her orchids and traveling and was always a source of good advice and encouragement to her children and grandchildren. Jane enjoyed a long successful career as a Realtor and with her positive outgoing manner, she made many good friends who will remember her great smile and joyous laughter. She is survived by her children Barbara (Marshall) Rosa, Erik (Denise) Soderholm, Roger (Lorie) Soderholm and six grandchildren Anne, Sarah, Kaiwi, Max, Gus & Gabi and two great-grandsons, Keola & Henry.
