On November 29, 2019, the world lost a force of nature. Pamela Lai-Jun Wilkinson (nee Wong) was born on January 25, 1950 to Dora and Samuel Wong in Honolulu, Hawaii. At the age of 20 she quit college to become a United Airlines flight attendant to allow her ailing father the opportunity to travel. In 1977 she met the love of her life, and married George Wilkinson after a three-month coast-to-coast courtship. They moved to Nurnberg, Germany, where George was stationed in the Army. After two years there her desire for travel was well established, and throughout her life she made multiple trips to Europe and Asia with her family and friends. After Germany she and George returned to Honolulu where she worked as an Executive Assistant at KGMB, and had their two children. In 1987 they moved to Medford, Oregon for the next 20 years for George's work. There they made a home and many lasting friendships. After their children returned to Honolulu Pam and George came home to Hawaii for good, and for the past several years spoiling their grandchildren has been their full-time job. Never afraid to speak her mind, Pam will always be remembered as the life of the party who never passed up the opportunity to enjoy a meal with loved ones. Pam is survived by her husband, George; daughter, Lauren and her husband, Kapono and their children, Nahele and Nohealani; son, Jeffrey and his wife, Jennifer and their daughter, Elise; her stepchildren, Amber and Georgie; and also by her siblings, Mike, Rena, Allan, and Brian. A private service will be scheduled later. For those wanting to honor her memory, please cook your favorite meal, pick out your favorite bottle of wine, and invite your family and friends to share it with you. In lieu of flowers please send the amount that would have been spent on a bouquet to your local food bank, so that the less fortunate may also enjoy a meal in her honor.
