Marian Takiko Kuroda passed away on December 9, 2019 at the age of 81, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on the Big Island, in Papaikou, to Ryutaro and Waki Hayashida, the youngest of 11. Marian attended Kalanianaole, Hilo High, and the Queen's School of Nursing. As a Registered Nurse, she worked at Queen's, Good Samaritan in Los Angeles, and Kuakini. Marian retired, most of her tenure with the night shift crew of the Kuakini PCU (telemetry) floor, but stayed on at Kuakini as a loyal volunteer in its Quality & Patient Outcomes Department. Marian will be remembered for her kindness, patience, selflessness, and grace. She loved growing orchids and travelling with her family. Marian is survived by her husband of 53 years, Stanford, her daughters Cheryl Looper (Mark), Judy, and Gail, and three grand- children, Lura, David, and Noah. A Celebration of Life for Marian will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019, at 5 pm (Visitation) and 6 pm (Service) at Nuuanu Memorial. Aloha attire. No flowers, please.
