Richard Seichi Yogi
72, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on the morning of Friday December 6, 2019. Richard was born on Puunene, Maui. He was a Vietnam War veteran, where he was awarded 2 Purple Hearts for wounds sustained in action. Richard was dedicated to providing for his family and had an incredible work ethic as a carpenter for Walker-Moody Construction beginning November 1968. He never called in sick for the 40 years that he worked for the company until his retirement in July 2009. He was a selfless, soft-spoken man who enjoyed frequent visits to Las Vegas with his family where he would spend hours playing at the craps table. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Eileen, and loyal dog Peanuts; sons, Jason and Brent; daughter-in-laws, Mandi and Kelly; grandchildren, Zane, Sean, Zoe, and Kara Jade. He is also survived by his beloved Maui Family, brother, Sherman, sister Grace; sister-in-law Ethel, and brother-in-law Dennis. Services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Visitation at 1pm with Service at 2pm. Burial: National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
