Fay Tsuruko Uyeda
FAY TSURUKO UYEDA January 14, 1944 ~ October 23, 2019 Aunty Fay Uyeda, 75, of Honolulu, was the the Executive Director of Communities In Schools Hawaii, founder of the Alaka'i Malama Academy and the 'Ohana Management System. A beloved woman who embraced the Hawaiian culture as a foundation of her teaching. She loved Waipahu, and our beautiful islands of Hawaii. Aunty Fay believed in the Hawaiian values of Aloha (Exchanging of Ha-breath), Malama (Deep caring), Kuleana (Responsibility), Laulima (Many hands working together), Kupa'a (Stand firm) and Lokahi (Harmony). These values were a way of life for her. She always found opportunities to learn from, mentor and to teach the haumana (students) that attended program and almost anyone else she'd come into contact with. She reminded us the importance of leadership, you need to be a great follower before you can be a leader. You cannot teach what you don't know, you cannot lead where you won't go. As a leader, there are great responsibilities that come with the title but never forget who you are and where you came from. No one has gotten to where they are without the love and support of others. Aunty Fay passed away on October 23, 2019, Her Life will be Celebrated on January 11, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Waipahu Elementary School Cafeteria. Aunty Fay is truly missed!
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
