FRED BURRELL, JR. Of Mililani, passed away on November 14, 2019, in Honolulu at the age of 91. He was born in Great Falls, SC, to the late Fred J. and Auggie C. Burrell. A veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, he was awarded a Bronze Star for his service during the Vietnam War. He retired from the U.S. Army as an Intelligence Analyst and from the Department of Defense as a Security Specialist for the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Mililani Baptist Church, a past Master of Hawaiian Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a past member of Aloha Shriners. His wife, Sumiko Matsuura Burrell, preceded him in death as did brothers, Angus, H.B., and Carlos; and sisters, Mamie Canupp and Mae Byars. He is survived by three daughters, Sylvia (Steven) Wee, Sydney (Peter) Shaw, and Susan (Alton) Tamashiro; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Percy and Gentry; and sisters, Miriam Crisco, Bobbie Barnes, Ruth Foster, Aileen Brown, Jannell Reiter, and Sarah Loving. Services were held. The family requests no koden.
