LEONARD JAMES CABRAL JR.
LEONARD JAMES CABRAL JR. LEONARD JAMES CABRAL JR. Loved and adored, son, brother, boyfriend, grandson, nephew and friend, Leonard James Cabral Jr., also known by his family as "Jamie", went home to be with God on November 10, 2019. He was 31 yrs old. Leonard was born on July 5, 1988. He attended Pali Pre-School, Kaimuki Christian, Hanalani and Kapolei High School. After graduation, Leonard and his brother and best friend, Nick, began working for United Health Care but soon left to study aviation at Green River Community College in Auburn, Washington. After Leonard and Nick received their Dispatch Licenses and Associate Degrees in Air Traffic Control, they returned to Hawaii and worked for Honolulu Control Facility as Remote Pilot Operators. In 2016 they were employeed by Island Air as dispatchers, and soon thereafter, they joined the Dispatch Department at Hawaiian Airlines. Leonard was generous, kind and intelligent; his irresistible smile, infectious laughter and sense of humor often resulted in others laughing along with him. Leonard was very compassionate and caring, always putting others before himself. Filled with a sense of gratitude for all that he had, Leonard was committed to helping those less fortunate than he was. He loved dogs and enjoyed gaming, going to the movies and spending time with his loved ones. Leonard loved traveling the world with family and friends and experiencing different cultures and cuisines. He possessed an open mind and was constantly reading; he never stopped learning and sharing his knowledge with others. He was an old soul and always lived life to the fullest: he will be missed by many. Leonard leaves behind his parents, Leonard James Cabral, Sr. and Leslie Matsumoto; brother, Nicholas Ikaika Cabral; für sisters and brother, Chloe, Lovey and Orca; girlfriend, Jamie Komoda; grandparents, Harold and Janet Matsumoto; aunties, Cheryl Avilla, Kris Matsumoto and Shari Heftel; uncles, Gary Avilla, Blaine Avilla, William Avilla, Robbie Avilla and Jay Matsumoto (Donna); and many cousins. Predeceased by für sisters, Lacey and Lilo; grandmother, JoAnn Reiko Cabral; and uncles, Vernon Diaz, Michael Avilla and Carl Cabral. Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 25th, 2020, Koolau Ballroom from 11:00am to 3:00 pm. Aloha Attire.
