FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Marian Michie Chinen Ramelb
Marian Michie Chinen Ramelb81, passed away December 28, 2019 at Kaiser Medical Center, with family beside her. The second of seven children born to Masei and Chiyo Chinen in Honolulu, is survived by her husband Benjamin Ramelb, sisters Nancy Matsumoto, Janice Yokota, and Margo Watanabe, and brother Lawrence Chinen; and children Paul (Susan) Ramelb and Caroline Ramelb. Marian was born in 1938 and raised on a farm in east Honolulu during early childhood. Her family later opened Eagle Market on the corner of King and Liliha Streets. Marian attended schools in Honolulu and graduated from McKinley High School. She graduated from St. Francis Nursing School in 1959. After working a few years in Nursing, Marian attended the University of Hawaii and received her B.S. degree in Business in 1980. She worked in accounting in the federal government until retirement in 1995. In retirement, Marian mainly traveled with her family for the next 20 years. She preferred Japan and Las Vegas as her favorite destinations which she visited frequently. Marian enjoyed playing tennis with family and friends for over 35 years. She played in the Honolulu Public Tennis league with her favorite partner, neighbor Amy Mizuno. Services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Valley of The Temples. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., with a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Afterward, family and friends are invited to join the Ramelb ohana for lunch. A private interment will be held Monday, February 24, at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements Provided By: Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary
