Jacob Yick Wing Ng
NG Born March 3, 1927 in Waialua, Jacob Ng passed away on December 14, 2019. Drafted into the Army, he served on Canton Island, Fort Shafter, and Schofield Barracks until discharged in 1947. Upon his discharge he worked at the Engineering Facilities Command in Pearl Harbor while taking college classes at night. He worked as a Management Analysis Specialist that took him to destinations such as Diego Garcia, Singapore, Manila, Yokosuka, Iwakuni, Okinawa, Kwajalein, Chuuk, Panape, Palau. Retiring after 35 years of service he started work at the State Legislature, serving as a senior aide for Representative Joseph Leong and then for Senator Norman Sakamoto. Jake also belonged to the Waialua Lion's Club where he served as District Governor of the Lion's Club (District 50). Jake served as a board member for the North Shore Neighborhood, the Department of Education, the Fire Commission for the City and County of Honolulu, and a Board of Director for NAVFAC Credit Union. Preceded in death by wife (Velma). Survived by children, Donald (Laverne), Sharryl (Elwin), Matsumoto, Nannette (Lorenzo) Lucero; Grandchildren Ryan, Collin, Gavin, Aaron, Jasmine; Great Grand- children Kaitlyn, June Marie. Siblings: Lawrence (Maria) Ng; Dorothy Wong; Flora Tanji; Laura (Eric) Ching; Elizabeth Ishihara; Mildred Hasama Funeral at Mililani Mauka Chapel on Feb. 3.
