Dana Wakefield
74, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2020 at her home in Waikiki surrounded by family and loved ones. Born in Honolulu and raised on the island of Molokai, she was one of five children born to parents Henry Keawe Ayau Sr. and Mabel Duvauchelle of Ho'olehua. She attended Roosevelt High School and graduated with the class of 1963. She traveled the world and made lifelong friendships along the way, until finally returning home to Honolulu permanently in the early 90's. She would later go on to work for the State of Hawaii-Attorney General's office for over 15 years, retiring in 2008. She enjoyed time spent anywhere, as long as it was with family and friends. She was often referred to as the "life of the party", with her contagious laughter, radiating smile and witty jokes. She will be remembered as a compassionate, generous and loving soul by all. She is survived by sister Lana Alamillo (Bob) and brothers' Burelle (Aulani) and Ronnie (Margie) Ayau. She is also survived by daughters': Leinik (Cody) and Kloie Ayau, grandchildren: Ka'ehu and Keawe Ayau-Kamakana, predeceased by daughter Jasna Ayau and grandson Kanahaokalani Ayau-Kamakana. Her memorial service will be held on: Friday February 28, 2020 at Oahu Cemetery, located at 2162 Nu'uanu Ave, Hon, HI 96817.
