Yan Hung Lum
98, passed away February 10, 2020 at Straub Medical Center. He was a devoted husband of his wife, Jeanette Lum, who preceeded him, and a devoted father to their three children. He is survived by sons Jason Lum and Jared Lum, daughter Pamela Lum, and sister Loretta Dong. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during WWII. He later found his lifetime work as a drafting technician at PACDIV of the U.S. Government, where he met Jeanette. Back in the day, Yan Hung shone brightly in helping his team win the Junior AAU basketball league championship over University of Hawaii. He loved learning and coffee. He read the newspaper daily, subscribed to magazines of all subjects, and collected college lectures on DVD until his passing. Services will be held at Borthwick Mortuary in the Maunakea Chapel on February 25, 2020 at 11 am. Visitation starts at 10 am. Inurnment at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific will be on February 28 at 2 pm.
