FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Daisy Ok Kee Kim
Born on August 9, 1929 in Honolulu, Hawaii, our beloved Mom passed away on January 25, 2020. She is survived by her husband Chang Nai Kim; 4 children: Karen (Chad), Gregory (Paris), Cynthia (Sean) and Julie (Thomas); 9 grandchildren: Christopher (Jessica), Matthew (Athena), River (Danielle), St. John, Caitlin, Haley, Daniel, Eric and Madeline and 2 great grandchildren, Madison and Samuel. Daisy graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1947, and attended the University of Hawai'i before transferring to the University of Cincinnati and Michigan State University (MSU), graduating in 1951 as the first woman from MSU to receive a degree (B.S.) in Police Administration. Daisy volunteered with the Richards Street YWCA, focusing on programs to fight racism, and served at the National YWCA. Daisy also volunteered extensively for the Punahou School Carnival, chairing the Arts & Crafts booth, and leading a successful launch of the Korean Plate booth, as well as serving as Carnival Secretary. Daisy was devoted to her family, and took immense pride in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and in her occupation as "professional mom." A Private Service has been held. No flowers please. Donations may be made to the YWCA O'ahu, 1040 Richards Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813, or online at www.ywcaoahu.org/donate.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
