Emiko Yonesaki, 89, passed away on February 9, 2020 with her family by her side. She was born on May 29, 1930 to Shuyei and Uto Higa in Pepe'ekeo, Hawaii. Emiko was devoted to her family, friends, and members of the Palolo Kwannon Temple. She is survived by sons Kerwyn (Charlyn) and Darryl (Sandra); daughters Brenda (Lawrence) Sakamoto of Los Angeles, Naomi (Dan) Riley of Arkansas, Midori "Mimi" (Arlene Carvalho) Yonesaki, and Mari (Summer) Yonesaki; daughters-in-law Christine Yonesaki and Carol Kekaualua; 14 grand- children; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ethel (Nobu) Kamiyama, of Los Angeles; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Francis Masatsugu Yonesaki; her sons, Jensen Teruya and Ronnie Yonesaki; sisters Betsy (Edward) Maehara, Edith Toguchi, Nora (Fred) Eisenhart, and brother Ichiro (June) Higa. The family would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Palolo Chinese Home and St. Francis Hospice for the loving care she received during the months that she resided there. Services will be held at Hosoi Garden Mortuary on Monday, March 2. Visitation at 5pm, services will begin at 6pm. Private burial. No flowers. Casual attire.
