FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Lincoln Funn Neen Aiu
Lincoln Funn Neen Aiu, age 74, died on January 20, 2020 peacefully in his sleep, at his home in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is survived by his sister Penny Aiu, and his brother, Mason Aiu. He also leaves behind a niece, Kim Aiu, and nephews Marcus Aiu and Andrew Losik. Lincoln grew up in Honolulu and was the youngest son of Louis Aiu and Mae Lum Aiu. As a child he attended Kauluwela Elementary school and McKinley High School before being drafted into the US Army in 1971, where he served with distinction. He was honorably discharged in 1973 and was awarded a Purple Heart and the Army Commendation Medal. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the US Army never left him, and his commitment to family was evident throughout his entire life as his friends and family will attest to. He worked for the City and County of Honolulu for the majority of his life in the Refuse Department, where he brought the same commitment, dedication and work ethic that he learned in the military to work with him every day. He will be remembered for his selflessness in caring for his parents into their elder years, and for the love and life lessons that he taught his nephews and nieces. Whether it was teaching them how to swim, fish or boogie board on the beaches of Ala Moana and Waikiki, or showing them by example how to be responsible and self-sufficient adults, the impact he had on the lives of his family and friends will never be forgotten. A private service was held at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery on February 28, 2020. Arrangements Provided By: Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary LLC

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
