Jacob Jason Fernandez, Jr., “Jake”
Jacob Jason Fernandez, Jr., JACOB JASON FERNANDEZ, JR., JAKE Jacob Jason (Jake) Fernandez, Jr. passed away at his second home in Kahaluu in the loving presence of his family on January 24, 2020. He was 92 years old. Jake retired as a Land and Right of Way Agent from Hawaiian Electric Company in the 1990s and spent the next 20 years living in his beloved Waimea on Hawaii island. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Jake is pre-deceased by the love of his life, his wife, Donna-Lee Fernandez, and his four siblings: Eloise (Edmund) Capellas, Earl (Dawn) Fernandez, Blanche (Floyd) Hustace and Roy (May) Fernandez. He is survived by his three children, Puanani (Kalama) Fernandez-Akamine, Gina (Dustin) Karas and son, Jake Fernandez (III), and four grandchildren, Anuhea (Matthew) Park, Dylan Hays, Irish (Nile Hogarth) Hays, and Pono Fernandez. He is also survived by his niece Judy (Kehau) Gerard, who helped to care for him during the last two years of his life, by his two sisters-in-law Dawn Anahu (Earl) Fernandez and May Christensen (Paul) Goeller, and by numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. VISITATION 4:00 PM MARCH 14, 2020 AT ANCHOR CHURCH IN KANEOHE. SERVICE AT 5:00 PM. CASUAL/ALOHA ATTIRE. NO FLOWERS OR WREATHS. PRIVATE SCATTERING OF HIS ASHES ON HAWAII ISLAND AT A LATER DATE.
