SUSAN KENWORTHY COOPER
SUSAN KENWORTHY COOPER 1946-2020 Our beloved Susie passed away in peace on February 28, 2020. Susie, 73, was born September 11, 1946 in New London, Connecticut to Francis Taylor "Bud" Cooper, Jr. and Kathleen Churchill Bruns Cooper, the second child in what was to be a family of 11 children. As the daughter of a naval officer, she lived many wonderful places, among them Panama; Carmel, California; Mystic, Connecticut; Washington, D.C.; and Honolulu. She graduated from Star of the Sea High School in Honolulu and received a B.A. in History from the University of Maryland. As a life-long learner, she nearly completed a Masters in Early Childhood Education from Chaminade University and took courses at Honolulu Community College in Administration of Justice. Susie was a savvy self-taught investor, invested wisely, and did very well for herself. Besides her work as a librarian assistant at Honolulu's Main Library, she often worked one or two other jobs for money to invest, give to her favorite charities, and buy presents for family and friends. Susie loved music, especially Hawaiian music. In her youth, she enjoyed hiking and body surfing, and until a few years after her retirement, swimming in the ocean. She also loved coffee and was a frequent customer at Honolulu coffee shops. A devout Catholic, Susie was fiercely independent, fun loving and passionate, a loyal, loving friend, sister, cousin, daughter, and aunt. Her light and love will be sorely missed by friends and family. Predeceased by brother Steven Cooper, Susie is survived by Sally Hall (Dave), Ann Frazee (Mike), Robert Cooper (Gunn), Jean Nixon (Mike), Gail Stone Santantonio (Mike), Bill Cooper (Maje), Jane McCarthy (Bill), Peggy Crowell (Kaipo), and Terry Ronco (Chris), as well as numerous and well-loved nieces and nephews and their many children. A mass and celebration of Susie's life will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Kailua on Friday, March 13, 2020: visitation 9:30 a.m.; funeral mass 10:15 a.m. Donations in Susie's name may be made to Catholic Charities.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
