Gordon Cornell Lorenzo
Gordon Cornell LorenzoBeloved Husband, Dad, and Papa was called home on February 28, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones. Gordon was 76 years old, born on August 4, 1943 to Augustine Lorenzo and Abigail Weed in Waialua, Hawaii. He was the 16th child of 18 children. Gordon was a proud graduate of Leilehua High School, Class of 1961. Following graduation, Gordon enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in New Hampshire and met the love of his life, Mary Libby. After getting out of the Air Force, Gordon spent some time working for Allegheny Airlines and the General Electric Company before moving back to Hawaii in 1971. In Hawaii, he worked for the Hawaiian Telephone Company before starting his career with Hawaiian Electric Company where he retired after over 34 years of service. Gordon is preceded in death by his sons Gordon and Keola. He is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Joseph (Ruan); daughters, Linda (John), Michelle (John), & Teresa (Mario); grandchildren, Chazarae, David, Ikaika (Verrina), Jana-Lei, Jana-Marie, Joshua, Justin, Kainoa, Kaipo, Kalei, Kamaki, Kenika (Jacob), Keola, Keolaonalani, Kepa, Krystlyn (Michael), Leimomi (Horace), Michael, Mario-Joshua, Nainoa, Natasha (Chris), Ryan, Savannah, Shadow, Sheena (Dyllan), & Tiny, 34 great-grandchildren; brother, Phillip; sisters, Elizabeth, Nina (Ben), & Rosita (Antonio); and many nieces/nephews. If you asked Gordon, his greatest accomplishment wouldn't be about his career, it would be about the close-knit family he created. Family meant everything to Gordon, he was intensely proud of them and loved to share that with everyone. Gordon will be deeply missed by the many people he touched during his remarkable and outstanding life, but his deep love and legacy will be etched in our hearts forever. Due to the current health conditions, the family will be postponing the Celebration of Life until further notice. Following his wishes, his ashes will be scattered in the ocean at Haleiwa Beach Park at a later date. Arrangements Provided By: Leeward Funeral Home
