Ruth Sass Warembud was born on January 21, 1917 in New York City. She was the third of four daughters born to Joseph and Lena Sass who themselves emigrated from Austria-Hungary in the early 20th century. She lived in New York's Lower East Side until she moved to Honolulu in 2013. Ruth passed on April 26, 2020 at the age of 103.She is survived by two married daughters, Marylyn Thornton (77) and Joan Koff (74). She has 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grand- children; and 2 great-great- grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and person and she will be missed.
