96, passed away peacefully at home on May 5, 2020. He was born on June 9, 1923, in North Kohala, Island of Hawaii. Served with the Army Military Intelligence Service during WWII as an interpreter and interrogator in the Pacific. Married Janet Toshiko Asato in 1954, who predeceased him in 2016. He retired in 1988 after many years as a wholesale produce businessman. He is survived by sons Leslie (Janet), Daniel (Lynette), daughter Carol Ann Nishihara (Bert deceased), seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Home care support provided by St Francis Hospice and VA. Private services are pending.
