FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Harriet Yoshiye Tanaka Tavares

Harriet peacefully passed away on the 17th of May, 2020 at the age of 99. She was born in Hana, Maui, on February 9, 1921 to Jiro and Mina Tanaka. She was a graduate of Mid-Pacific Institute on Oahu and graduated in 1940.
She married Hannibal M. Tavares and is survived by three children: Charmaine Tavares, Sharon (Brian) Klaschka and Gary (Diane) Tavares; five grandchildren: Mark (Nancy) Klaschka, Scott Klaschka, Harrison Tavares, Jared (Tyler) Tavares, Jonathan (Erin) Tavares and eleven great-grandchildren.
Harriet is pre-deceased by her parents, Mina and Jiro Tanaka, her husband, Hannibal M. Tavares and ten brothers and sisters: Keichi Chadani, Minoru Tanaka, Kikuyo Segawa, Fujiko Motooka, Kinuko Tanaka, Ichiro Tanaka, Masako Takayama, Miyoko Sumida, Kasuyoshi Tanaka and Sueyoshi Tanaka.

Services will be held at a later date.
