Toshiko passed away peacefully at home on May 29, 2020, just months before her 100th birthday. Toshiko Tamashiro was born in Honokaa; she moved to Honolulu shortly after marrying Larry Hoshijo.She will be fondly remembered as the gracious hostess of frequent family gatherings with bountiful tables of everyone's favorite ono dishes. Her home was always a welcome place for friends and family needing temporary housing. Toshiko enjoyed a long career as a skilled seamstress at Sun Fashions of Hawaii and spent her leisure time travelling to Japan and the mainland, especially, Las Vegas. Predeceased by her husband, Larry, Toshiko is survived by her children Gerald (Gladys) and Sharon Shiraki (late husband Stanley) and grandchildren Travis, Robyn, and Garett (Jennifer), and great-granddaughter Tensley. She is also survived by siblings Tomie Nakamura (late husband Kenneth), Minoru, Sueko Inouye (late husband Fred), Akira (Karin), and Sumie Dela Rosa (Florendo).
