ANNA CLAIRE FORSTER
ANNA CLAIRE FORSTERAge 90, died on June 16, 2020, in Kailua, Hawaii. A celebration of her life will be held at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Gardens, Kahua Kukui picnic area, at 2:30 pm on Friday, June 26th. Anna Claire was born to Sylvester and Elizabeth Jourdan on September 18th, 1929, in Evansville, Indiana. She attended Bosse High School and the University of Evansville. She married Roger Forster on December 2nd, 1950. She and Roger had many adventures together, taking them from Indiana to Wisconsin, Washington D.C., Hawaii, and Alaska. Anna Claire retired in 1996 after a 25-year career with the Hawaii Department of Education, serving as a teacher at Nimitz Elementary, as Vice Principal of elementary schools in Honoka'a and Honaunau, and finally as Principal of Pearl Harbor Elementary. In 2015 she suffered a stroke which impaired her speech but did not dim her sweet nature or good humor. Anna Claire is preceded in death by her husband Roger. She is survived by daughter Kim Amaya of Anchorage, Alaska, son Matt Forster (Chris) of Kailua, and grandchildren Alan Amaya of Palo Alto, California, Adriana Celko (Jesse) of San Antonio, Texas, Emily Forster of New York, and Jack Forster of Kailua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
