FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

LOUIS “TREY” V. VEDOVA III
LOUIS Louis V. VeDova III "Trey" passed from this life on June 13, 2020 after a prolong battle with cancer. Trey passed peacefully at his residence on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, with his beloved wife and family by his side. Trey was 67. Trey was born in St. Louis, MO and is a 1971 graduate of Webster Groves High School. Instead of pursuing a college degree, Trey took an extended tour of Europe and North Africa. It was not long after his return that he partnered in a successful college bar, located in Columbia, MO. Several years later, he was on the move again. This time, to the Bay area of California. At the urging of an old high school friend, Trey took a job as a salesman in the retail car business. Almost immediately, Trey realized this career path was the perfect fit. Trey's natural leadership qualities, competitive nature, and uncommon intelligence allowed him to move up rapidly in the business. This effort culminated in 1983, when he was named General Manager and Dealer Principle of Windward Dodge in Kaneohe, Hawaii at the age of 30. Trey later met the love of his life, MiAe Kim, of Seoul Korea, while dining out with friends in Hawaii in 2010. They later married in February of 2017 in a private ceremony at their Oahu, HI residence. Trey was an avid, and better than average, golfer. A good round of golf with friends went a long way to decompress from the stress of the car business. Throw in a few side bets, and it was a perfect day. Trey was also a long-time member of the Mid-Pacific Country Club. Windward Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram and Hyundai has grown along with Hawaii. It is still a very successful, vibrant, and valuable part of the Hawaiian business community. Trey was preceded in death by his father, Louis V. VeDova Jr, and mother Jean Ruth Bell. Trey is survived by his loving wife, MiAe Kim VeDova, daughter Janean, her partner Ben and their daughter Shiloh Allen-VeDova of Portland, Oregon. Trey is also survived by his siblings and their spouses: Laurie Baumann, Daniel VeDova, Susan Burke, Thomas Jr. (Victoria) Bell, Michael Bell (Cindy Whitman), and Patricia (Daniel) Stippec as well as his many nieces and nephews: Marissa and Anna Baumann, Jason Bruhin, Matthew Bell and Molly (Bell) Norris, Michael Jr. and Zachary Bell, and Sarah and Samuel Stippec. There will be a Celebration of Life for Trey on Sunday, August 23, 2020. Time: 2:00pm-5:00pm Mid-Pacific Country Club Lanikai, 266 KA'ELEPULU Dr., Kailua, Hi 96734, 808-262-8161. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Hawaii Pacific Health Children's Miracle Network Kapiolani Medical Center.
