Charles (Chuck) Emery, Jr., age 81, passed away peacefully at Straub Medical Center on May 20 due to long-standing medical issues. Chuck was born in Honolulu and spent nearly all of his life in Hawaii. He was a proud graduate of Punahou School in the class of 1957.For nearly fifty years, Chuck worked in international sales. He had clients throughout the Pacific islands, the Philippines and Japan. In the early days he would island hop for weeks at a time taking orders from long-standing clients. In later years the fax machine and the Internet made it possible for him to do most of his work from home.
Chuck most enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He and wife Heidi traveled extensively. He was an active member of the Oahu Country Club where he spent many years playing golf with friends and family. He was also a regular participant in the card games and lunch crowd.
The family wishes to thank the many doctors and health professionals who have supported and cared for Chuck in recent years. Mahalo for your kindness and care.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Charles Sr. and Esther, brother Richard; daughters Linda, Christine, and Shawna.
He is survived by devoted and loving wife Heidi; daughter Jacqueline of Honolulu; son Kenneth of Palau; and five grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his extended family and by his many friends and card partners.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Clement Church, IHS, YMCA or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
