I lost my wife and best friend, Wendy Fujii, on February 9, 2020. Wendy was on hemodialysis for 12 years under various failing health conditions but never gave up the good fight. I continue to miss her dearly. Wendy was born Wendy Yuk Chun Lee to Robert Kuchan and Alice Wan Yuk Lee on February 26, 1945. An only child, Wendy grew up very independent and liberated, always a breath of fresh air but sometimes with a whiff of cayenne that spiced our marriage of forty eight years. What a ride!!! She started teaching at Waianae Middle school for a year but ended up retiring from Pearl City High school after 34 years. She was an excellent English teacher who taught senior AP English for many years but her greatest achievement was in seeing all her students succeed in later life. What a person!! She was my anchor as well as my mainsail and I will always remember her for what she made me.
