Of Pearl City, passed away in the early morning hours of June 20, 2020 at the age of 88. Born in Wahiawa, Oahu, George served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a self-employed contractor. He is predeceased by parents Tamotsu and Teruo Minakami; siblings: Walter, Herbert Minakami, Ellen Migita, and grandson Chase Kirihara. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Yuriko Nonaka Minakami; sons: Scott (Kim), Guy (Carolyn Tanoue) Minakami; daughers: Joan (Rod) Ka'alekahi, Jill (Craig) Kirihara; grandchildren: Wendell, Aubree, Ka'iulani, Cheyne, Chaz, Chanel, Hunter, and Maya; siblings: Harry, Theodore, and Alice Minakami.The family appreciates and gratefully acknowledges your kind expression of sympathy.
