Gertrude "Trudy" Chang Yee passed away at the age of 100, on May 27, 2020. Trudy was born in Honolulu on December 30, 1919, the daughter of Charles K.Y. Chang and Y. F. Leong, and came from a family of (11) children. Trudy attended Sacred Hearts Convent and graduated from Sacred Hearts Academy in 1940. Trudy married Frederick K.S. Yee in 1941, also from family of (11) children. Fred inherited Yick Lung from his father, Yee Sheong, and along with Trudy developed the family business into a mini-conglomerate of many businesses. Upon Fred's passing in 1991, Trudy then became President/CEO of Yick Lung Co., Inc., Central Investment Inc., Teakwood Originals, Inc., and more. Trudy was a determined, strong-minded, dynamic leader, and a member of many Commerce, Social, Community and Catholic Church organizations. Trudy was predeceased by husband Fred, and survived by son Douglas (Caroline) Yee; daughter Patricia Yee (Daniel) Ching; grandchildren Derek (Carissa) Ching; Grant (Chieko) Ching; and Elizabeth Yee (Theodore) Coons; and great- grandchildren Sara Ching, Ethan Ching, Wiley Coons and Cate Coons.
