Miyoko Murakami Hoshide was born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii. She was married to Akio Hoshide, who pre-deceased her in 1993. She was born on June 11, 1920 and was able to celebrate her 100th birthday at Life Care Center of Hilo. She passed away on June 29, 2020. She was a retired secretary for the former W.A. Hirai & Associates, was actively involved in various community organizations, and was a member of Hilo Meishoin.Private services were held.

She is survived by her son, Leslie (Donna) Hoshide of Honolulu, Hawaii; daughters Aileen (Hajime) Shinjo of Hilo, Hawaii, Janice (Don) Jensen of Everett, Washington, and Aimee (Ryan) Kaneko of Hilo, Hawaii. She is also survived by her sister, Haruye Hagiwara of Honolulu, Hawaii, had 9 Grandchildren, 9 Great-grandchildren, a Brother-in-law, Sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
