FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Clarence Ako, Sr.
Clarence Ako, Sr., 78, of Kapaau, North Kohala died Aug. 10 at his residence. Born in Kealakekua, he was a retired maintenance worker III in the engineering department at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, cane truck driver for the former Kohala Sugar Company and formerly employed by Volcanite in Kona. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Survived by wife, Patricia Ako of Kapaau; son, Clarence (Leigh Ann) Ako, Jr. of Mililani; daughters, Korina Malia (Eugenio) Dela Cruz of Kapaau, Roen (Felicia) Ako of Seattle, Washington; half-brothers, Patrick Camvel of Honolulu, Richard Camvel of Pennsylvania, Calvin (Aleshia) Camvel of Oregon; half-sisters, Leatrice (David) Pili of Kaneohe, Charlene (Patrick) Porter of California, Maxine (Leon) Ryines of San Diego, California; seven grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews.
