Andrea Florence Motoyama was born to Vicente P. Flores and Elizabeth C.Y. (Whang) Flores on Nov. 30, 1927. She passed peacefully on August 5, 2020.The first of eight children, Andrea was born in Hawi, Hawai'i Island. She grew up on the Big Isle and in central O'ahu.
She married Richard Motoyama in 1950. They had two children, Scott and Stacie-Dee. Andrea had another child, Richard, from a previous marriage. Her husband's military career led them to Germany and Valley Forge, PA. They eventually returned to Hawai'i in 1968.
Andrea had a distinguished career with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). She loved gardening and was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
Andrea was preceded in death by her husband Richard; and siblings, Josephine, Caroline, Norman and Joseph. She is survived by her sisters, Beatrice, Frances, and Shirley; children, Richard Lee, Scott, and Stacie-Dee; grandchildren, Richard, Jr., Michelle, Kenneth, and Jaered; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
