Ellen Fong Tom
Ellen Fong Tom Ellen Yuke Lin Fong Tom, 89, passed away on July 14, 2020 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was the youngest of 8 children born to Koon Yick Fong and Yat Hong Lau. She graduated from Saint Andrew's Priory in 1949, attended secretarial school and worked for 32 years at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard as a Civil Service Administration Officer for Shop 02. During her long career, she received many awards for her work.
Ellen was married to Clinton W. Tom for 45 years before his passing in 1999. She enjoyed traveling, playing mah jong with her Priory classmates, reading, sewing, knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild. Ellen was a kind and humble person who was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. She was a devoted and loving daughter-in-law, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Ellen is survived by her son Dr. Russell Tom (Elizabeth); daughters: Alison Ching and Lisa Spencer: six grandchildren: Iyanah Urquidez, Dr. Elysse Tom, Dr. Kaitlyn Tom, Angela Ching, Andrea Ching and Taylor Spencer; one great grandchild, Katherine Urquidez and sister Rose Go and brother Henry (Kikue) Fong.

Private services were held on August 6, 2020.
Donations may be made in her memory to Epiphany Church
where she was a lifelong member.
