61, passed away on August 29, 2020 after a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer. He was an avid surfer and fisherman, spending most of his life in or near the ocean. In his younger days, Garrett was a baseball all-star at Kailua High School and the State batting champion in his senior year. He also received a baseball scholarship to play for the University of Hawai'i. Garrett worked at the Hawai'i Prince Hotel for many years, where he was the bell desk supervisor and where he formed many long lasting friendships. Garrett had a wide-range of friends, many like brothers to him, and he loved his big Dodge pickup truck which he kept running for 30 years. Garrett will be missed forever for his kindness, loving heart, smile and for being an all-around great guy. He is survived by father Rogers Ginoza, sisters Lisa Ginoza (Brenda) and Laura Ginoza, and niece Zoe. He is predeceased by mother Betsy Kobayashi Ginoza and grandmother Grace Miyoko Ohama. Garrett was also dearly loved by many uncles, aunties, and cousins. Memorial service to be held at a later date.
