James Arthur McGuire, age 91, passed away on Aug. 24, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.He was the adopted son of George and the Rev. Elinor Wong of Ke Akua Mana Church. His Sister Alfretta recently passed. He was raised in Honolulu and attended Iolani School in Nuuanu but graduated from McKinley High. He worked for Hawn. Dredging as a crane operator building Bridges on Maui and Kauai. As owner of Mc's General Repairs he was a dealer for various lines Of diesel engines for marine and indus. use. The co. also handled installation and service of Marathon Equip. refuse compactors. He used to fly small prop airplanes, raced go carts with His sons, hunted deer and did shoreline and deep-sea fishing. He is predeceased by his wife, May L. McGuire and is survived by his children Leonard (Shirley), Dennis, Yvonne (Tyler) Takehara and Mae (Garrett) Tonaki, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Private services held.
