Upon her return to Hawaii after service, Angie attended the University of Hawaii for a time, then permanently located to the USA mainland settling in San Francisco, where she married her life partner, Edward Floeter. Travel within the USA beckoned, and in the 1970's Angie moved between Michigan, Idaho, South Carolina, and Virginia, finally raising her family of three children in Charleston, Toledo, Baltimore, Ayr, Scotland and Lewisville, Texas. Angie was employed in positions which demanded integrity, dependability and even some curiosity. She spent several years with the Chessie System (C&O Railroad) and in 2000 began her gaming career, ultimately retiring from the Horseshoe Casino in 2020. She was a longtime member of Hamon Gray, American Legion Post 83, LaPorte, IN. Angie's final wish was to be remembered as someone who struggled daily to leave her world a better place because she lived.
Angie was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Laura Akina; brothers, Theophile, Brian and Ambrose, and Jerrick Tyler Floeter, her eldest grandson. Angie leaves behind her husband of 47 years; daughters: Rachel (Don) Upton and Victoria (Ramon) Kiner, and son Sam Akina (Jules Jones); grandchildren: Bianca and Xavier Kiner, Aaron Upton, Tesla Schock and Juniper Akina; brothers: Theodore, Cyril and Stanislaus; her sister Ursula and numerous other beloved family and friends.
