FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

KNUD LINDGARD
KNUD LINDGARD91, passed away on August 3 2020 at Palolo Chinese Home. He was under Hospice care with the support of Navian Hawai'i and Kaiser Moanalua. Mahalo to all Staff and Volunteers that cared for Knud at a most challenging medical time in our history.
Knud was born in Faaborg, Denmark on Nov. 8, 1928. His parents were Lilli and Kresten Kjeldsen. Knud and Family moved to Hawai'i from France in 1966. He was a Naturalized Citizen and Veteran. He worked at Fort Shafter as a Systems Analyst, retiring in 1983.
Knud is survived by his ex wife Coco Lindgard and 3 children, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson; Ken and Virginia Lindgard, daughters Katelin and Lilli; Armele Farden and son Shawn; Catherine and Stephen MacMaster and sons Colin and Mikah and Colin's son Caius.
Knud will be fondly remembered as a Man who was an expert marksman, gourmet cook and enjoyed a good schnaps and had a wicked sense of humor!
Knud was a member of the Kailua Neighborhood Board for 16 years. He initiated a freshwater bank fishing program with the support of Mayor Jeremy Harris at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Gardens. He volunteered with the program until his illness in 2012. He volunteered at the Nu'uanu freshwater fishing program run by the State Dept. Of Land and Natural Resources. Knud was a writer for the Hawai'i Fishing News, Freshwater Bank Fishing column.
Mahalo to Dr. Allan Chun and Staff at Kaiser Kailua for their excellent care during his visits. To the Staff at O'ahu Mortuary and Kaneohe Veterans Cemetery our Mahalo Nui Loa.
We will celebrate Knud's Life at a later date, at Lani Huli Kailua, Knud's last Earthly Home.
