FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Thomas “Tom” Stanley Purdy
Thomas 69, of Honolulu passed away on June 24, 2020. Born 1950 in CA to Millard and Harriet Purdy, the family returned to HI in 1951. Attended Manoa Elementary, Iolani, Roosevelt High School Class of '68 and Maunaolu College, Maui. Started in restaurants as a busboy, waiter and restaurant owner later returning to radio as a DJ on Kauai, Honolulu and Seattle. In 2005 he returned home from CA, in 2007 he started Taro Delight, creating taro products and his special salmon belly laulau. Retired in 2018 to travel, write, cook, garden and be an active Church of the Crossroads member.

Survived by wife Brenda Ching, sister Ann Canete (Dan) and nephew Geoff Wooden (Emi) and their children Mia and Niki.

A celebration of life will be held later. Those wishing to honor Tom's memory can donate to Church of the Crossroads or Hawaiian Humane Society.
